The “Science X Sustainability” MRT painted train ran in Taichung MRT from 19th to April 21st, 2023. The painted train is a response from the National Science Council to respond to the United Nations International Year of Basic Science for Sustainable Development.

The car is transformed into a science classroom, so that passengers are exposed to knowledge about nature, the environment, and carbon footprint during the ride. Zhongjie company said that the public is welcome to take a ride on the Green Train and integrate the concept of “science x sustainability” into their lives.

Zhongjie Company stated that the “Science X Sustainability” project team used the painted train to let the public feel the interaction and dialogue with science and the environment, hoping to enhance the public’s attention to basic science and care about environmental issues around life.

During the operation of the painted train, the National Science Council also launched cute O2 Line stickers, interactive activities such as point collection and lottery draws, etc., through simple game questions and answers, to induce the awareness of science and sustainability, and then take practical actions to protect the environment , to achieve the goal of “taking root in science and sustaining Taiwan”.
