【2022 ECRs in Sustainability Science 15】Human rights and forced evictions: from the perspective of evicted residents
In the 15th online seminar for Early Career Researchers (ECR) in 2022, Dr. Tsai Ying-Chieh will provide insights from the perspective of landowners affected by land expropriation, and analyze the opaque aspects of land expropriation using Taoyuan City as an example. The current legal system lacks protection for meaningful participation by the public in land use and land expropriation planning, which has led to many hidden problems in the legal procedures of land use and land expropriation. Dr. Tsai's research suggests that the government should implement public participation in current land development cases to avoid further human rights violations.
