Science Train Tour

The \2022 Taiwan Science Popularization Round-Island Train,\ co-organized by the National Science Council and Taiwan Railways Administration of the Ministry of Transportation and Communications, will depart on October 24, 2022 (Monday), with eight electric train carriages transformed into scientific experimental fields for a 5-day science journey around Taiwan.

Through this 5-day trip, scientific knowledge will no longer be distant, but can be experienced through hands-on exploration and practical experimentation, reducing the urban-rural gap in science education, allowing children to learn knowledge better through science experiments and games, and laying a foundation for Taiwan's scientific competitiveness from an early age.

The Taiwan Science Popularization Island-wide Train will hold an event at Yilan Station on October 28, 2022. The event will be divided into two parts: activities at the station and activities on the train. The station activities will take place at the red brick plaza behind Yilan Station and feature a creative science experiment game with the theme of SDGs. The on-train activities will be provided with a rich array of scientific experiments by the National Science and Technology Center for Disaster Reduction and visited the Coal Mine Museum and surrounding facilities at HouTong Station.
