Science Train Tour

The National Science Council (NSC) launched the \Taiwan Science Popularization Island-wide Train\ in 2016 in collaboration with the Taiwan Railway Administration (TRA), with the aim of providing more diverse and interesting science education promotion modes to stimulate students' interest in science learning, which is different from the traditional teaching system. The TRA provided electric multiple unit trains (four cars from 2016-2019, eight cars from 2020 onwards) to integrate and coordinate science education resources from 16-18 county and city government education bureaus/offices, colleges and universities, high schools, and private enterprises. The train stopped at 16-18 stations throughout Taiwan, not only offering interesting and practical science experiences and exhibits at science fairs for elementary and junior high school students, but also inviting teachers and students to board the train and conduct various interesting and practical experiments while the train was moving. Through the diverse scientific exploration activities of the Science Popularization Train, which travels around Taiwan, not only did the participating high school students and visiting elementary and junior high school students become interested in exploring natural science, but they also deeply experienced the importance of science learning.
