"2022 Taiwan Science Festival" Science Popularization Fair Event.

Science Communication
Event Date | 2022/11/05 - 2022/11/06 Address | National Museum of Natural Science and Technology

We use laser engraving to introduce scientific knowledge in this activity, allowing the public to have a deeper understanding of the principles and applications of laser engraving. By using a game-style quiz with prizes, we reinforce the impression of laser engraving and showcase how many laser-engraved products there are in everyday life. Moreover, we offer customized laser-engraved rulers as prizes, allowing the public to create their desired text and patterns.

1. Let the participants understand the scientific principles and popular science knowledge related to laser sculpture, including: the differences between light, color, visual light, laser and ordinary light, the principle of laser, the types of laser, the wavelength characteristics, the laser's laser, the laser’s The structure of the shock, the structure of the laser oscillator.n2. Let the people understand the types, materials application, cut types of laser carvings.n3. Let the participants make their favorite works through the laser sculpture, and learn about the principles, operations, parameter settings, and work presentation from the implementation of the laser carving.

Laser carving processing is a product of scientific and technological progress. Unlike traditional carving, the advantage of laser carving is the speed, exquisiteness and the concept of environmental protection. The laser sculptor is used and high -intensity laser light to continuously illuminate items on the target. The place where the irradiation places reaches the melting point, softened and cut the items, and then combined with the high pressure airflow to melt the objects generated during the process of melting or gasification of the object. This principle makes laser sculptures more accurate cutting effect than knife molds. Compared with the traditional manual carving method, laser carvings are more delicate than traditional handicrafts, and they do not lose the level of hand -carved carving.
