Science Communication
Event Date | 2022/12/01 Address |

he junior high and elementary school stages are critical periods for establishing scientific concepts, and it is hoped that students' curiosity about science can be cultivated through practical activities. Through the GOXR app, students can learn about the metaverse and visit our exhibition hall, the \Nantou County Digital Science Museum.\ We hope to attract students' initial understanding of the metaverse (3D virtual reality) and increase their interest in science.

The curriculum for this event is as follows:

1.Experience the metaverse
2.Introduction and production of cyanotype
3.Introduction and production of polarisations

The first stop of the event came to Beishan Elementary School in Beishan Village, Guo Township, Nantou County, and leaned on the nine seconds of Nine Mountain and Nangangxi in the past 1992 earthquake, located in the remote trails of Beishan Village.

At the beginning of the event, we introduced them to the concept of the Yuan universe and shared the application cases. Children were very shy at first. In the actual experience, the number of museum we built has aroused the interest of children. They constantly raised questions and discussions, expressing their curiosity and expectations for the Yuan universe.

The first experiment was a blue diagram. In this experiment, we mixed iron saline and sun -exposed paper, so that children can use their creativity and imagination to paint on the transparent rubber and make their own unique blue sun -diamonds. They constantly try different patterns and compositions to create All kinds of works have been released.

The second practical experiment: polarized painting. In this experiment, children need to operate between light sources and polarizers, and use transparent tape to show the polarizing effect at will. Children are actively participating in this experiment. They paste different angles of the test and show various color and fruits under the polarizer as much as possible, showing a strong desire for knowledge and enthusiasm for learning.

During the activity, through guiding children to practice, they learned how to operate scientific tools and materials, and played their imagination and creativity through creation. These experiments have enriched their children's learning experience, and also enhanced their interest and understanding of science.
