Fisheries and Marine Conservation

Specialization
Event Date | 2023/03/14 Address |

Many fishing resources in the waters surrounding Taiwan have been overexploited. The Fisheries Research Institute, which has both fishing and aquaculture departments, is actively seeking to develop new aquaculture species. In recent years, breakthroughs have been made, with the successful breeding of several species and the release of fish fry to restore fishing resources. This has further developed into stable and diverse aquaculture products.

Result

This speech put forward some important results. First of all, establishing a cooperation model between fishery and aquaculture is a necessary condition for sustainable development. This cooperation can help the development of new aquaculture species, and at the same time, it can also rehabilize fishery resources to maintain the stable development of fisheries.

Secondly, the decline in the average level of ecological levels of fishing objects, the decrease in high ecological level species, and the stagnation or decrease of fishery output are the main problems currently facing fisheries. These problems have impacts that cannot be ignored on protecting biodiversity and maintaining ecological balance of fisheries.

In order to solve these problems, the speech proposed some solutions, such as the development of new aquaculture fish species and release of fish fry to enhance fishery resources. These measures can help improve fishery output and protect biodiversity, and can also ensure the sustainable development of fisheries.

Finally, the speech also emphasized the importance of government agencies, academic institutions, and private sectors in achieving these goals. Only in this way can we truly realize the sustainable development of fishery and aquaculture, thereby bringing more benefits to our economy and life.
