This event responds to the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization's promotion of the "International Year of Basic Sciences for Sustainable Development." It was organized by the faculty and students of the Fire Safety Bachelor's Degree Program at Dayeh University, who visited Zhonghe Elementary School to lead the children in understanding science and disaster prevention.

The four-hour series of courses adopted a hands-on approach and game-based learning to engage forty participating students. The course outcomes allowed all students and teachers at Zhonghe Elementary School to participate and implement what they have learned. Following the concept of "STEAM education," the program integrated science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics, along with hands-on activities, to teach practical knowledge about life and disaster prevention. The curriculum also included interactive disaster simulations, allowing children to understand the principles of fire evacuation equipment through scientific experiments. They were guided to recognize the application of frictional force and use everyday objects such as paper cups, beads, and funnels to simulate other rescue equipment like roller coasters and slingshots, enabling them to grasp scientific principles like center of gravity, action force, and reaction force.
