On December 7, 2023, the "US-Taiwan Sustainable Development and Artificial Intelligence Forum - Taichung Session" was held online. This forum was co-hosted by Taiwan's National Science and Technology Council (NSTC) and the American Institute in Taiwan (AIT), with National Taiwan Normal University and Tunghai University as the organizers. The event was in response to the United Nations' "International Year of Basic Sciences for Sustainable Development" (IYBSSD), focusing on the two prominent topics of sustainable development and artificial intelligence.

The forum attracted scholars, industry professionals, and young students from both the United States and Taiwan. Through multiple speeches and discussions, participants explored how AI technology can play a crucial role in achieving sustainable development goals. Speakers analyzed the application of AI in energy, environment, agriculture, and social governance from various perspectives and shared the latest research findings and practical experiences.
