Taiwan Science Round-the-Island Train Activity Plan Series: You Can See It Through the Mirror
In this activity of [2023 Taiwan Science Circle Island Train], the students of the Department of Science and Communication led by Liu Lanyu and Lin Mingzhao led by the department participated, and the activity was mainly based on large periscopes, supplemented by mirror mazes, leading the public to explore the use of periscopes to simulate submarines to observe the movement on the water surface, and in addition, they can also observe the dynamics of the enemy army in the trenches in the war, introduce the scientific principles and significance to the public, and also operate and interact with the people on the spot, responding to the scientific trip around the island.

Students from the Department of Science and Communication participated in the "2023 National Science Round-the-Island Train" Science Market booth at Pingtung Railway Station, using two large periscopes to give children the opportunity to experience the principle of multiple reflections of mirrors. By observing the magical effect of the mirror reflecting light, they can have a deeper understanding of how the periscope observes things in the distance through the reflection of two mirrors, leading the public to explore the use of periscopes to simulate a submarine to observe the movement on the water surface, and in addition, they can also observe the movement of the enemy army in the trenches in the war, introduce the scientific principle and significance to the public, and also operate and interact with the people on the spot, responding to the scientific journey around the island. This interactive experience stimulates children's curiosity about science and makes it easier for them to understand the principles of science. In addition, there is also a mirror maze level, so that students can carry out scientific exploration activities in a short period of time, in order to stimulate children's enthusiasm for learning science through active exploration, so as to nurture the seeds of science in children's hearts, bring unforgettable scientific experience to students in Pingtung area, and is committed to bringing scientific knowledge to people's daily life.
