2022 Taiwan Mathematical Society Annual Meeting

Specialization
Event Date | 2023/01/16 - 2023/01/17 Address | National Tsing Hua University

The Mathematics Annual Meeting has always been the largest mathematics exchange conference in Taiwan, aiming to promote mathematics education and research, as well as to facilitate domestic and international exchanges and cooperation. We invite experts and scholars in mathematics-related fields from home and abroad to share their research results. As the most important academic organization in mathematics in Taiwan, the Mathematical Society of the Republic of China provides not only high-quality academic activities for the academia every year, but also an end-of-year gathering, exchange, and learning opportunity for mathematicians. The 2022 Mathematics Annual Meeting will be held on the campus of National Tsing Hua University for two days in January 2023. During these two days, we plan to invite young scholars in mathematics-related fields who are working on topics related to sustainable development to give short talks on relevant themes, and record them as videos. For example, there are many mathematicians in the field who are conducting research on mathematical problems related to green energy and smart grids, and some young scholars have already expressed their willingness to participate in this activity. In the year before and after the annual meeting, we will openly invite mathematics teachers and students who attend the meeting to think together on how mathematical science can make contributions to sustainable social issues. Past event videos can be found at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xRyiaPNgxzM. In conjunction with our once-a-year Mathematics Annual Meeting, we expect to have about 400 teachers and students from various mathematics-related departments in Taiwan attending the physical conference. In this significant event for mathematicians, we hope that through the sharing of young scholars, the academia as a whole will re-examine the importance of mathematical science in sustainable development.
