Highlights

The Science Popularization Festival is held every year before graduation season and brings together rural and urban children to participate in the "Taichung Urban Science Festival" activities. Through their year-long experiences and insights in science participation, rural children try to design their exclusive teaching materials and cultivate their ability to express themselves and tell stories. In addition to schoolchildren, the event also aims to invite parents and elders to participate. The design of the Science Popularization Festival focuses on promoting communication and interaction between children and adults, especially in intergenerational education and community-based learning activities.

During the science festival, senior students take on the role of "Science Guides" to share science games with junior students and community elders. Children participating in the activities not only learn scientific knowledge from various game stations but also learn how to effectively use science communication skills to narrate and explain scientific concepts to other participants. The curriculum includes fun toy science popularization, disaster prevention and mitigation science popularization, and sustainable environmental science popularization units, aiming to inspire children's interest and understanding of science.
