Atomic Energy Fun GO

Through a series of on-site activities, the Atomic Energy Fun GO program provides students with scientific knowledge about nuclear power plant decommissioning and environmental ionizing radiation. The Atomic Energy Commission of the Executive Yuan aims to facilitate in-depth learning for local students in Wanli District, New Taipei City, regarding nuclear power plant decommissioning, nuclear waste disposal, tritium treatment water and radiation monitoring, as well as public protection and civilian applications in the event of a nuclear accident. By engaging high school and junior high school students in science outreach education, the program aims to enhance students' understanding of local environmental issues related to ionizing radiation, deepen their impression of regional heritage and environmental sustainability, and empower them to share their knowledge with family and friends.

The Atomic Energy Fun GO on-site science outreach activities feature engaging storytelling, mobile interactive experiments, tabletop gaming experiences, challenges, and virtual reality games, providing students with immersive opportunities for in-depth scientific learning.

In order to help local students in the Wanli District of New Taipei City and the neighboring Jinshan District gain a deeper understanding of ionizing radiation in the local environment, and to establish a sustainable link between the local area and the environment, the Original Energy Society, the Science and Education Center of Tamkang University, and the Department of Infant and Child Health Care of the National Taipei University of Nursing organized the "Atomic Energy Party Go" activity at Jinshan High School, in which a total of 65 Jinshan High School teachers and students took part, and which was unanimously well-received. Through interactive performances, lively storytelling, board games, gateway games, VR games, etc., the event allowed students to enhance their interest in science and their impression of learning through laughter and interaction.

In order for students to gain a deeper understanding of the knowledge related to atomic energy science in our living environment, the plan of the gatecrashing activity included the themes of "Radiation Application", "Nuclear Waste Decommissioning", "Radiation Disaster Response" and "Green Energy Technology" in Zone A and B. In addition, in response to the imminent release of tritium wastewater from Japan into the sea, information and knowledge related to the tritium discharge was also set up through the exhibits and the on-site interaction with the audience, so as to let them understand the Government's proactive response. Through the exhibits and interaction with the audience, the public was able to understand the government's proactive response to the situation.

We are very grateful for the enthusiastic participation of the high school teachers and students, which made this event a success! In addition to making the contents both knowledgeable and interesting, the Council will continue to organize science exhibitions and craft activities, taking into account the needs of different regions, towns and villages, as well as the needs of different audiences, so as to increase the opportunities for students to get closer to atomic energy and science popularization.
