Highlights International Connections
Event Date | 2023/06/10 Address | Training Room, 11F, Taipei Public Library (No. 125, Sec. 2, Jianguo S. Rd., Taipei City, Taiwan, R.O.C. 106210)

Do you know that our brain is one of the most complex things in the universe? It works like a supercomputer, composed of many parts that work harmoniously when we think or learn. However, mental illnesses are like certain parts of the brain following different rules, making it difficult for the brain to function normally. In this speech, we will introduce how scientists use functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) to study the complexity of the brain with schizophrenia. By understanding how the brain works, new treatment methods can be developed for mental illnesses, and help patients live healthier lives.

In the second part of the speech, we will discuss news literacy related to mental illnesses. Mental illnesses, like colds and cancers, require treatment, and news reports may provide incorrect or incomplete information that can affect our views and understanding. In addition to understanding the illness and respecting patients, we should also correctly interpret news reports and know when to seek professional help, to create a more friendly and harmonious society.

This event is suitable for third graders and above, as well as anyone interested in the brain. Let’s explore the mysterious world of the brain together!

We extend our sincere gratitude for your continued support and assistance in organizing our events. In this regard, we are pleased to inform you that we have successfully secured the ideal venue for our upcoming event, two months ahead of schedule. This early acquisition ensures that we have ample time to undertake various preparatory tasks, including the design of the event flow, resource allocation, and coordination of various details.

To ensure the success of the event, we have undertaken extensive publicity through multiple channels. Utilizing tools such as social media, promotional posters, and collaboration with partners, we aimed to amplify the event's visibility. However, despite investing significant time and resources in promotion, regrettably, we did not receive any registrations before the deadline.

In light of this situation, after thorough internal discussions, we have decided to postpone the originally scheduled event date. This decision is made to provide more people with the opportunity to participate and to ensure the event achieves the desired impact. We believe that by rescheduling the event to 2024, we will have more time to further publicize and attract a greater number of participants.

Furthermore, we are considering merging our event with a similar one scheduled for 2024 to enhance the richness and diversity of the activities. Such consolidation promises to bring forth more highlights and excitement, offering participants a more enriching experience in future events.

When determining the new event date, we will be in touch with your organization to ensure smooth coordination in our collaborative efforts. We sincerely apologize for the deviation from the original plan for this event. However, we are confident that through these adjustments, we will create a more impactful and larger-scale event.

Once again, we express our gratitude for your cooperation and understanding. We look forward to continued collaboration in the future and the creation of more successful events together.
